Item #108377

4to. 118pp. A complete and authentic reprint of the rare, original edition of 1749. Considering the method employed to publish this book [mimeographed from typescript], this is a surprisingly well produced edition of this famous novel, and certainly an uncommon item. The publisher, Henry Evans, is also believed to have produced a pirated edition of Henry Miller's Tropic of Capricorn in the same manner; he was also the father-in-law of one of erotica's most important modern scholars.
