Reproduction of a pamphlet featuring intersex/hermaphrodite performer Albert Alberta [Karas] (Adam and Eve), who appeared in vaudeville sideshows (so-called "freak shows") and similar venues, circa 1920s. Measuring 11 x 17", folded to 8.5 x 11" the cover features photos of Albert Alberta, interior a photo spread, and the back autobiographical information. According to Marc Hartzman (American Sideshow: An Encyclopedia of History's Most Wondrous and Curiously Strange Performers. Penguin, 2006: 109-110), Albert-Alberta was Harry Caro, female impersonator. Albert-Alberta worked at Coney Island, Hubert's Museum in Times Square, in the Loew's theater circuit.
