Catalogues from this important seller of gay and lesbian fiction, literature, art, photography, theatre, history, biographies, and queer studies. Robert J. Manners' papers are now held at the ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at the University of Southern California. This set is from the collection of Ivan Stormgart, who, when inquiring to Robert Manners regarding back issues, was provided with two collated sets of early catalogues: Nos 1-10 are bound together in a report cover; seven photocopies and three originals. Nos. 11 through 30 are bound into a smaller format cardboard notebook (6.5 x 10"). Catalogues 31-58 run 32 pp. each, around 600 listings per catalogue. Many have the order form still laid in. Copy of the first catalogue set includes the following note: "BOOKS BOHEMIAN started with a list of items that were duplicates in my collection. This list was circulated among gay friends and acquaintances and was encouraging enough to lead to wider, mail distribution. The first mailing, of Number 1 was in the Fall of 1977. The revision was to drop a dozen Merchant Marine novels and non-fiction, all straight, into a "Bargain" section, and to correct some of the typos. Robert J. Manners, April 1, 1981." Number 58 was Manners' final catalogue.
