8vo. pp. 80. Frontispiece and three plates, signed 'A.Z.', illustrating flagellation scenes. A good reprint of a work that originally appeared, as the title states, at London in 1885. The book is comprised for the most part of extracts from flagellation novels, letters extracted from the press of the day advocating corporal punishment and anecdotes and personal experiences of floggings. The plates are contemporary to the reprint, not the original edition of 1885.
