A "Soho typescript," or "Soho bible" - pornographic fiction, mimeographed from typescript, text printed on one side only, with illustrations (on photographic paper) bound in. Cover is an illustration on photographic paper. Printed clandestinely and sold "under the counter" in pornography's great time-honored tradition. Bondage and flagellation fiction, in which young woman are kidnapped by Turkish and Arab sadists, subjected to whippings, medical and mechanical sex devices, etc. First line: "Benjy Hassal drew his chair further to the oval aperture through which he was able to peer into the next room... " Back cover rubber-stamped "Modern Books, 94 Dean St., Soho, W1."
