The other, which was used for the present reprint, was in the library of the late Gérard Nordmann, an important collector in Geneva. The Christie's auction catalogue of Nordmann's collection (27 April 2006) lists these two known copies. The name of the artist responsible for the plates is unknown, but the text accompanying each of the twelve plates has been ascribed to Andréa de Nerciat, as well as Vivant Denon.
